Learn the song 'Friends Across The Earth' in Greek.

On this Erasmus visit to Greece, seven children learned to sing this song in Greek. Let's see if some more kids can learn it too.

Below you can hear what the song should sound like when you get it right: (Sung by Mary, a teacher from Grevena).

DESCRIPTION

The development of this C3 mobility was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic that forced the change of planned activities, as well as the non-participation of Italian and Slovenian schools due to the restrictions imposed by their governments. Therefore, this activity was carried out by the Spanish, English and Greek schools in the following way:
The Greek authorities discouraged activities inside the educational center or other closed spaces, so the Greek school quickly adapted the planning initially planned to socializing activities in the open air, visits to the nearby environment and excursions and cultural exhibitions.

The participants in this activity were:
- 4 teachers and 15 students from the Spanish school.
- 2 teachers and 8 students from the British school.
- The teachers and students of the Greek school.
The activities were always carried out in English, so the students were able to improve their language skills, since they had to use the foreign language both to participate in the proposed activities and to interact with other children from other schools.

BENEFITS

The benefits for the participants are the following:

- Greater knowledge of Greek history, culture, traditions and trades. This is directly related to the block of sociocultural content present in most European educational curricula.
- The participants have improved their English language skills since they have required the use of the second language both for educational situations and for everyday situations.
- Participants have also improved their ability to adapt to different environments and situations by opening their minds and broadening their horizons.
- In this atypical mobility, the participants took a big step out of their comfort zone, facing an imprecise situation, since when they left their environment and families, the magnitude of the serious problem that was to come was not well known, but in those days pre-pandemic, both students and teachers were adapting to the situation, which undoubtedly made them acquire attitudes of maturity and resilience, very important for their future life.
- There was a great improvement in the attitudes of protection of nature by students and teachers, especially through experiences in forests and mountains, becoming aware of the enormous benefits that trees and forest ecosystems in general bring us.
- The participants had the opportunity to visit places of great historical and cultural importance in Greece, especially Meteora, which is declared a World Heritage Site.
- The participants have received a certificate of attendance and participation in the different activities carried out throughout the mobility.
